Lower Mainland Seniors Co-ed SloPitch League
Recreational Division Guidelines 2018
Name
The league shall be known as the “Lower Mainland Seniors Co-ed SloPitch League.”
Objectives
To encourage and promote senior participation and fairplay in the game of slo-pitch.
League Organization
The executive shall consist of:
- Chair
- Past Chair
- Vice Chair
- Secretary and/or Treasurer if necessary
- One representative from each current team
Duties of Chair
- To conduct meetings.
- To chair meetings arising from official protests.
Duties of Past Chair
- To assist the Chair.
Duties of Vice Chair
- To assist the Chair and assume duties if Chair is absent.
Duties of Secretary
- To take minutes of meetings.
- Other duties as required.
Duties of Treasurer
- To take charge of receiving fees and paying necessary funds as voted on by the league organization.
Terms of Office
- An officer may hold a position for no more than two years, with elections to be held in February of each year.
- Usually, after two years, the Vice Chair becomes Chair and the Chair becomes Past Chair.
Meetings
There will be four meetings per year, closely following these scheduled months.
A quorum will consist of a majority of the team representatives.

- Review rules and discuss implementation

Voting
- Each current league team has one vote when representative is present (no proxies).
- The League Executive does not vote.
- A tie vote is defeated.
Rules
- All rules shall be governed by the SPN Rules. Modified rules will be set out on a separate document and may change from year to year with a majority vote.
Eligibility
- A player must have participated in a minimum of five games with their team in order to play in the playoffs.
- Women must turn 50 plus in the year of play; men must turn 55 plus in the year of play.
- Players who play more than 2 games in the Competitive League in the current season are considered competitive. Competitive players will not play in the Recreational League, including playoffs.
League Fees
- A fee, if necessary, will be set each year at an early meeting of the league.
- Individual teams are responsible for setting a team fee, collecting the fee and purchasing equipment and insurance.
Playoffs
- A yearly playoff committee will present a playoff format to be approved by a majority.
